Bitty Bird’s Day Outdoors
Our Sunday started with coffee and a very different plan. Bitty was on a stroll with Jo that morning… then the day got interesting. I was working on a project next door when the commotion started, Bitty has flown off Jo’s shoulder and on to a tree on the property. Bitty didn’t get back home for nearly 24 hours!
She flew from that tree to another in a neighbors yard where she spent most of the afternoon. No amount of calling or coaxing worked the afternoon drifted away. She finally flew to the top of this mesquite tree that is in front of our home. As the sun set and it got dark nothing would move her from her perch. It got dark and was cooling off. She quit responding to me as she settled in for the night.
The next morning as the sun began to light up the world we were happy to find her still in the same tree with a new adventure brewing as one of the cats that live in the area had her in mind for breakfast. I ended up on the roof to chase our feline guest away and we used an eighteen foot paint roller extension with her food bowl attached to see what would happen… IT WORKED and she took a ride on the bowl back down and on to my shoulder. Hungry and thirsty she was happy to have this adventure come to an end.
